In the late nigh, at Di Cheng fifth hospital.
The emergency department is brightly up. It looks chaos. The portable beds are moved and the floor has blood on the floor. The doctors and nurses are so busy.

Because of the burning bar is exploding, the danger coefficient increases. All the firefighters are retreating from the fire scene. They are using the high-pressured water to put out a fire.
The firefighter keeps on doing their war.
The crowd and the media are expelled out and needed to stand outside the security line.
Song Yan is sitting inside the ambulance, his firefighting suit is dirty, it has a thick ash. His hair is dirty too. His face is just being treated. His skin is red because of the high temperature, it’s a bit chapped.
But it’s nothing for him.
The nurse treats the injury on his arm. On the other side, Xiao Ge is treated on the burnt injury on his neck.
The time of explosion, Song Yan was dragging Xiao Ge out. Jiang Yi and the others also immediately retreated after hearing Song Yan’s order. But there are people and firefighters left behind.

Those people mostly are the newbie of Liu Ye Tan’s firefighters.
The doctor said that the explosion had smashed his chest.
Song Yan looks outside the ambulance, the dead firefighter is laying there and covered with a white cloth. In cold day, the white cloth is blown.
After the treatment is done, Song Yan gets off the ambulance and goes to see that dead firefighter. He covers him again.
Liu Ye Tan’s group leader also comes over. He sits beside the dead body. He covers his face and cries.
Song Yan sits down beside him silently.

He goes downstair and looks around. He finds the place where the fire was too severe.
He examines all the place.
Suo Jun comes over: “The boss is taken away with the police. We should find the reason of the fire. I and Lao Tong are the ones who would responsible. You are injured, return back to the ambulance to have a rest.”
Song Yan: “This time let me write the report.”
Suo Jun notices something wrong in his face: “What is it?”
Song Yan says nothing.
Suo Jun sighs: “Firefighters couldn’t control the explosion. That’s no way we could anything in this situation.”
“It shouldn’t be this tragic.” Song Yan looks calm. “This place only has one exit, it’s a high risk place. But the smoke detector and automatic waterworks are disabled. The fire hydrant has no water, the fire extinguisher is expired. The wall is made of easily burning material. There are overload electric circuit. How could it pas the fire safety test?”
Song Yan laughs coldly: “I bet the boss is bribing, let him wait for a sentence.”
He just wants to leave but Suo Jun blocks his way and says: “What are you planning to do?”
Song Yan watches him: “What do you mean?”
Suo Jun looks around and pulls him to the side.
“Bribing?” Suo Jun says in a low voice: “If there’s briber then it means that there’s one who receive the bribe? Are you saying that our superior might receives bribe? Ah?”
Song Yan: “I don’t care which b*st*rd receives bribes.”
Suo Jun: “Those people are sure to see much of each other ——“
Song Yan: “Why should respect them?Do they think of other brothers when they receive the bribes?”
Suo Jun: “You should wait for this matter, let’s discuss—-“
Song Yan: “There’s nothing to be discussed!”
Song Yan couldn’t control his rage anymore. Suo Jun is silent for a second, he says nothing.
Song Yan wants to leave but Suo Jun stops him again. “Song Yan, though you don’t care about them! But you should think about yourself! Today your decision is right, you saved at least five firefighters’ life. you are making a great contribution! The superior would praise and compliment you. You would be promoted soon! Don’t you want——“
Song Yan stops him: “That kid is laying there and no one buries him yet! D*mm*t, are your sincerity gone?”
Suo Jun is terrified and speechless, his eyes just turn red, his lips are trembling. He says with a low voice: “Song Yan, we are brothers, how could I not be heartbroken for him! How could I not be brokenhearted for this? But who am I doing this for? I’m just worried that you would be harmed! Is it easy for you to reach your position now? “No.” He cuts her off.
Xu Qin is startled for a while. Song Yan notices that his attitude is too stiff. He is silent for few seconds, yet he doesn’t look at her too. He asks again: “Why are you here?”
She examines him: “I watched the news. There’s an explosion and the firefighters were injured…”
“When did you come?” He looks at the clock.

She has been waiting for him for three hours. She has been waiting in anxiousness and fear for him for three hours.

She understands how is his feeling right now, his struggle. If there’s no her,, he wouldn’t be in this hard struggle.
She feels heartbroken for him.

How could there’s be this bumpy road?
It’s clear that he is hardworking one, yet he keeps on having trouble. It’s clear that he is expecting a fine future, yet there’s a lot of obstructions.
Her eyes are wet, she smiles: “Is this life?”
Song Yan smiles: “This is the life together with me.”
